Lian was born in Chongqing and grew up in Shenzhen, China.

She studied Photography (BA) at the Beijing Film Academy (Modern Creative Media Academy from 2016 to 2020 and majored in moving image pathway of Contemporary Art Practice at Royal College of Art (MA) from 2020 to 2022.

Lian Currently based in London. Her works focus on memory, identity and experience through the way of photography, moving image and documentary. Lian want to explore the tragedy and absurdity of contemporary society. She also write imaginary story through poetic text, drawing from her personal life.
